RuneScape: How to Handle Beggars

I’m sure you’ve come across the “need money pl0x” or the “can you give me item X please?”

I have some tips to easily get rid of these people, without having to yell at them, and or get yourself in trouble.

Firstly, if some beggar is actually following you around, teleport/log out. That’s just a plain nuisance for me (it may not be for some of you). Now, if you come across said beggar, and you’re near a fming spot, simply say “go collect ashes and sell them in the ge!”. That has so far always gotten them to stop begging, and sometimes I even get a thank you…(lol?).

Now, for those “beggars” who are really annoying…I have 2 methods of ridding them. One is to do the “here’s some money” and put 100k+ in the trade slot. Then let them declining (could sometimes be annoying). My second method is a lot simpler, and involves just telling the person to go fish or woodcut or to do something constructive. Let the beggar know that you aren’t going to waste your time with them, but try to help them out. There was a time when we were all “noobs”, and we all needed some money.

Remember that everyone who plays Runescape is a person (hopefully…And bots don’t beg…), so don’t get too mean! It could ruin their Runescape experience. Now, I know how annoying people can be sometimes, but you’ll have to have some patience if you want to get anywhere with beggars/noobs/whoever may be bugging you.

I hope this somewhat helps you. Just try not to be too mean to someone, especially a lower level player. Chances are they have another account and are just trying to be stupid, or the more likely reason: they’re new, and they don’t know what to do.
